The Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association (ORMTA) is a not-for-profit provincial organization managed by a volunteer council comprised of more than 1300 Registered Music Teachers and related members across Ontario. The aim of ORMTA is to encourage and provide the highest calibre of music education possible and to promote exceptional standards of music in each community. The Etobicoke-Mississauga Branch of ORMTA organizes and presents a wide range of events for its members and their students. These include performances, competitions, recitals, masterclasses, opportunities for professional development and more!
Becoming a Member
ORMTA welcomes qualified music educators and aspiring teachers who are committed to excellence in music education. Membership is open to:
- Private music teachers with a degree or diploma in music and teaching experience
- College and university music professors
- School music teachers
- Specialists in early childhood music education
- Student teachers who have attained at least a Level 9 or 10 and are continuing their musical studies and teacher training
For further information on the application process, please visit the ORMTA website at the provincial level. Members typically join the ORMTA branch that corresponds with their geographical location. Once accepted, members become part of a professional association dedicated to supporting high standards in music education.
